About the Founder
Dr. Debra Y. Griffith is a transformative leader committed to driving equity and institutional change across K-12, community colleges, and universities. She leads with the vision of increasing college persistence and closing opportunity gaps, working to ensure historically underserved students have access to the futures they deserve. As the inaugural Chief Equity Programs Officer for Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, she is spearheading initiatives that shape student success for over 12,000 scholars.
Before founding Do Better by Design, Debra led large-scale equity efforts at West Valley College and San José State University, creating student support programs that significantly improved retention rates.
As a strategist and consultant, she partners with institutions to develop equity-centered solutions that drive lasting change.
Debra holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and continues to create inclusive, student-centered learning environments that foster success for all.
